Moderna is making its COVID-19 vaccine at a company factory in Norwood, Mass.

Here's what we're following today.

The Food and Drug Administration has released its evaluation of a second COVID-19 vaccine and is expected to grant the Moderna vaccine emergency use authorization, perhaps as soon as later this week. Meanwhile, health care workers across the country are rolling up their sleeves to get the first doses of the Pfizer and BioNTech vaccine

A day after the Electoral College made the results official, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell congratulated President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris for their victory.

On Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Biden on his win, becoming one of the last world leaders to do so. 

Attorney General William Barr is leaving office after Christmas. Barr started out as a loyalist and trusted insider, but his relationship with the president frayed. Jeffrey Rosen will lead the Justice Department for the final weeks of the Trump presidency as the White House presses officials to do more to investigate politically sensitive cases.

Pro-Trump supporters defaced two Black churches in Washington, D.C., over the weekend as they rallied in the capital. The Rev. A zoo in Toledo, Ohio, has discovered that some marsupial Tasmanian devils glow in the dark. The animals can absorb high-energy light and re-emit it. The ability is usually found in fish, but there are some glowing platypuses, squirrels and opossums. Click here to listen or read the story
