Sexual harassment allegations made against Gov. Andrew Cuomo by two former aides will be examined by independent investigators hired by the New York state attorney general's office.

Here's what we're following today.

New York's attorney general is proceeding with an investigation into the allegations of sexual harassment made against Gov. Andrew Cuomo after a third woman detailed inappropriate conduct. Following The New York Times' publication of Anna Ruch’s account, Rep. Kathleen Rice called for Cuomo's resignation – the first congressional Democrat from New York to do so.
 
FBI Director Christopher Wray will answer questions today about the Jan. 6 Capitol attack. He’ll appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee in his first testimony since the riot. Watch the hearing live.

The U.S. Supreme Court hears arguments today in a major voting rights case that could give state legislatures a green light to change voting laws, making it more difficult for some people to vote

The governor of Nigeria's northwestern Zamfara state says that 279 girls who were abducted last week from a boarding school have been released. Government officials say they didn’t pay a ransom for the girls’ release. It hasn’t been revealed who’s behind the kidnappings.

  • Dr. Seuss Enterprises will cease publishing six of the author's books — including And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street and If I Ran the Zoo — because they portray people of color "in ways that are hurtful and wrong." 
  • Drummer Ralph Peterson Jr., who re-enlivened hard bop in jazz, died on Monday at 58 from complications of cancer. His sheer dynamism placed him among a group of jazz musicians in the 1980s known as the Young Lions.
